Master the Craft of Storytelling with Award-Winning Author Felicity Castagna
Saturday 23 November
Elevate your narrative skills in this one day creative writing masterclass presented by Sydney-based author, Felicity Castagna. With four novels published, multiple awards to her name, and her latest novel, Girls in Boys’ Cars, now being adapted into a major film, Felicity’s visit to the Sunshine Coast is a rare opportunity to learn from a master storyteller.
Open to all creatives and all abilities, this masterclass in the art and craft of storytelling will give you new tools to apply and inspire your creative practice.
Dive into the Hidden Soundscapes of Queensland’s Nocturnal Wildlife
Thursday 21 November
Nocturnal Wanderings offers a digitally immersive journey into the hidden soundscapes of Queensland’s nocturnal wildlife, captured across three Queensland Biosphere Reserve sites. In a cutting-edge, 360-degree environment, international sound artist Nikki Sheth brings this audio-visual experience to life in UniSC’s CAVE2, with point cloud imagery and video created in collaboration with John Lucy.
Showcasing Sheth’s commitment to connecting with nature and raising awareness about ecological conservation and the climate crisis, her work powerfully demonstrates how creative technology can inspire change.
In Conversation with Lindy Lee: Insights from One of Australia’s Most Celebrated Artists

Join SCCA for an afternoon with one of Australia’s most celebrated contemporary artists, Lindy Lee AO, in conversation with curator Liz Chang.
In this special event, Lindy will reflect on her extraordinary career, share her creative process, and offer insights into her most ambitious project yet: Ourobouros, a monumental public commission for the National Gallery of Australia’s 40th anniversary.

Applications are now open for the TAKEOVER program at The Old Ambulance Station, offering emerging and established creatives $2000 cash plus in-kind support to explore new ideas and connect with new audiences.

Sunshine Coast emerging artists are invited to apply for exhibition opportunities at Maroochydore Library Artspace, with a chance to showcase your work professionally and engage with the community through workshops or artist talks.

Opportunities for self-managed exhibitions and residencies are now available for artists focused on ecology and Country, with Expressions of Interest open for 2025 programming at our region's three Environmental Visitor Centres.
