The Refinery’s Next Artist Residency is
Now Open
Applications close 22 October, 4pm
Are you a mid-career or senior creative practitioner interested in the built environment, urban sustainability, and regeneration? Urban Ecologies is an artist residency presented by The Refinery in partnership with UniSC. Creative practitioners across all mediums and industries are encouraged to apply.
Running from November 2024 to April 2025, you will have access to UniSC’s cutting-edge resources including the Maker Space and the CAVE2. The residency also offers a $5,000 artist fee, $1,000 towards production, and dedicated time with UniSC’s technical and academic staff.

First Nations Fashion and Textiles Accelerator Fund – Applications Open!
Applications close 18 November, 2pm
The First Nations Fashion and Textiles Accelerator Fund, presented by Arts Queensland, seeks to support First Nations artists in Queensland to share their stories, celebrate their cultural identity and maximise the economic potential of their art by translating it into fashion and fabric. It helps artists focused on fashion and textiles, as well as those who include them in their broader work, with an emphasis on activities that grow commercial outcomes.
The Fund assists established First Nations fashion and textile artists and businesses that produce wearable art, ready-to-wear fashion collections or fabrics to increase production, enter new collaborations and expand into national and international markets.
WORKSHOP
Dive Theatre is running a performance workshop based on the Invisible Theatre method, where you will develop and present a short performance in a public space to generate discussion about social injustice.
EOI
The Hub Gallery, part of Caboolture Regional Art Gallery, offers a professional exhibition space for both emerging and established artists. They are now accepting applications for solo and group exhibitions.
Applications close 4 November.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Thriving Through Change returns as the Sunshine Coast’s top business growth expo. This free event offers networking with local businesses, support groups, and industry leaders. Join engaging masterclasses and a keynote by leadership expert Dave Clare.
Regional Arts Development Fund
The current round for Arts Projects - Major Projects and Artist Development - Mentorship opened on Monday 26 August 2024 and will close on Monday 7 October 2024. Arts Projects - Small Grants and Artist Development - Professional Development are rolling funds and are open year-round until all funds are expended.
West Space 2026 Commission Program
Applications are open for the West Space 2026 Commission Program. Two successful artists, duos or collectives will receive support to develop a project for presentation in our main gallery space.
Submissions close 3pm, Friday 25 October.
Bus Projects 2025 Artistic Program
Bus Projects invite Australian artists, curators and creatives who are working across critical, conceptual, and interdisciplinary practices to submit their ideas for exhibitions and public programs that push boundaries and engage with contemporary art discourse. Applications Close 11.59pm, Friday 18 October.

Basket Of Hammers is bringing together your new favourite acts for SAMHAIN 24 alongside an immersive experience by Cat Lee and Grace Herrmann. The event is held at a secret spot in Moffat Beach. Expect eclectic, experimental vibes and the true origins of Halloween.
ARTIST TALK
UniSC Art Gallery presents an IN CONVERSATION IN CONVERSATION with Zanny Begg and Dr. Christine Rogers. The discussion will explore themes from Begg's current exhibition, focusing on how film uncovers hidden and contested histories.
SCREENING
The Making of ‘In Absence’, features a screening of Paul Nevison’s award-winning short film and a panel discussion sharing insights into the films creative process, production challenges, and festival journey.
