Refinery winnersThe Refinery is a ten-week creative incubator program designed to transform ideas into sustainable businesses. The Refinery is a learning platform made for creative people and designed to refine, develop, test and action their business ideas. SCCA is a co-founding partner of the Refinery alongside Sunshine Coast Council and Suncentral.Fifteen local creative practitioners were selected for the program after a 2-day bootcamp in May. The 10-week program concluded with a fabulous showcase event at the Peregian Digital Hub on Friday August 2nd. The success of the program exceeded everyone’s wildest expectations.The program partners have just announced an investment of $12,000 has been awarded to support the three leading enterprises (pictured L-R) –Project Fort Awesome (Sam Taylor), Talk Revolution (Tasha Lawton) & Wildlings Forest School (Nicki Farrell & Vicci Oliver). The program will continue to support all 15 practitioners with access to mentors over the next 3 months as they develop their creative practices.The Refinery initiative was supported by Advance Queensland through #SCRIPT, CQUniversity and Arts Queensland through its RADF program, and other partners include the Innovation Centre Sunshine Coast, the Peregian Digital Hub and the Creative Spaces program.Find out more about The Refinery and express your interest in joining future intakes of the program.
