Join us for the last Good Chats of 2023 at Sub Tropic Studio.

We’ll be chatting with artists Odessa Mahony-de Vries and Jordyn Burnett.

Odessa and Jordyn will fill us in all about their achievements this year, what they’ve got coming up in the future…and all things in between! No need to book, just bring yourself along :)

Odessa Mahony-De Vries: Odessa Mahony-de Vries is an interdisciplinary artist working across painting and sculpture. She completed a Bachelor of Arts (Fine Art) with a major in painting at RMIT in 2018. Odessa's work has been exhibited at Noosa Regional Gallery, The Butter Factory Arts Centre, and QCA Webb Gallery in Brisbane. Her curatorial work includes an exhibition titled NOW at the Butter Factory Arts Centre 2023. Her artist residencies include LJ projects dance studio with Ruby Donohoe, The Old Lockup, and Testing Grounds Victoria. Odessa's studio space is open via appointment in the town centre of Nambour QLD.

Jordyn Burnett: Jordyn’s past and current work is pop, figurative and lollie coloured, a mix between animation, digital illustrations and acrylic paintings. Jordyn would describe her work as a sour candy. Delicious to look at, sweet at the first taste then sour and uncomfortable once you give it a good suck but you still end up eating the entire packet.  Some of the imagery Jordyn uses could be described as transgressive and absurd with a serving of a moist palette. Jordyn is one of the co-founders of LANTANA space and the founder of Anxious Artists Association.
